Cotton poplin

The poplin is a canvas which presents a fine and tight rib; it is absorbent, supple and slightly silky. To obtain the poplin, the weavers use a warp thread thinner than the weft thread . Originally, it was made with a silk warp and a weft in linen, cotton or twisted wool . It is often used for shirts , bodices and dresses .
